Turtle in a new tank! help!?

So yesterday I put my red eared slider in a tank he was outside but I didn't want him there. He slept all last night and now he keeps scratching at the tank when he sees his reflection. He also wedges him self in weird spots. Is this normal for a turtle in a new tank? When will he stop doing this? Thanks!
